The Toronto Blue Jays were able to lock up superstar first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to a long-term contract extension. After a couple of years straight of rumors connecting Guerrero to a potential trade, those rumors have been put to bed and the face of the franchise is set to play the foreseeable future with the team.
Guerrero has turned into one of the best hitters in baseball. He has followed well in his father’s footsteps.
So far this season, the Blue Jays have looked the part of a potential World Series contender. Their patience has paid off, as the team holds a 55-39 record currently and are in first place in the American League East division race. They lead the New York Yankees by two games.
On Friday, Guerrero took a big step in the franchise record books. He reached a massive career milestone.
Toronto Blue Jays Superstar Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Reaches Massive Franchise Milestone
As shared by StatMuse on X, Guerrero became just the 10th player in Toronto franchise history to record 1,000 hits. He also became the youngest player in franchise history to reach that milestone.

That is just another testament to just how good the 26-year-old slugger has been at the plate throughout his career to this point.
During the 2025 MLB season, Guerrero has played in 92 games. He has hit 12 home runs to go along with 46 RBI’s, while batting .279/.384/.439.
While his slugging numbers have not been as elite as they have been in years past, he has remained productive. If he can pick up his level of production throughout the second half of the season, the Blue Jays will have a good chance of making a run to the postseason.
Throughout his career with Toronto, Guerrero has played in a total of 911 games. He has hit 172 career home runs and driven in 553 RBI’s. Guerrero has also recorded a career slash line of .287/.365/.494.
Reaching this milestone was a big deal for Guerrero. However, he’s still young and has plenty of time to continue rising up in the Blue Jays’ record book.
