Throughout the course of the 2025 MLB season thus far, the Boston Red Sox have had a rollercoaster year. At times, they have looked like a potential World Series contender. In other moments, they have looked like a team who could miss the playoffs.
With the season at its halfway mark and the All-Star break in effect, the Red Sox have some major decisions to make.
Later this month on July 31, the MLB trade deadline will arrive. Predictions have had Boston selling and buying. No one knows what direction the franchise is going to choose to go.
Right now, the Red Sox hold a 53-45 record. That alone makes it seem much more likely that they will look to buy talent to make a run at a championship.
Keeping that in mind, one MLB insider has made a major prediction about Boston for the rest of the season.
Boston Red Sox Receive Huge Prediction From MLB Insider
Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic made an appearance on “Foul Territory” and spoke out about the Red Sox. He still believes that they can win the World Series.
“It’s going to be really interesting to see how they play this because they are a team that, frankly, might be in the World Series,” Rosenthal said. “If they make the right moves here, they have a ton of talent. They’ve got a really intriguing, exciting club, and they’ve come on a good deal in recent weeks.”

Earlier in the season, Boston made the choice to ship Rafael Devers out of town. He was traded to the San Francisco Giants.
Plenty of rumors have surrounded multiple players on the Red Sox’ roster. Aroldis Chapman and Alex Bregman have been the two most talked about names, with other players popping up as well.
Expect to continue hearing those rumors surrounding Boston. All that can be done now is to wait and see what the Red Sox choose to do over the next couple of weeks.
