MLB Fan Taken To The ER After Foul Ball Hits Her Forehead
A medical emergency occurred during Friday’s series opener between the Seattle Mariners and the San Diego Padres at T-Mobile Park. When a foul ball flew into the stands, it caught one of the fans off guard and struck her hard.
A foul ball hit Jamie Golla in the head while she was sitting with her friends, according to multiple reports. The entire incident was captured on camera by Golla’s friend, Michaela Pollard. As a result of the viral nature of the video, it has become very popular online:

In the video, Golla can be seen tracking the ball with her eyes as it flew above her head before looking away.In the midst of focusing on Pollard’s camera, the ball suddenly came straight at her.Additionally, the camera also recorded a loud cracking sound when the baseball struck her skull, making the situation even more frightening.
In the aftermath of the incident, Golla stated:
“Once it hit me in the head, I just blanked out for a quick second. I didn’t know what had happened; I thought someone caught the ball. I did not realize it came back towards me.”
A quick response was provided by Mariners staff. She was transported to Harborview Medical Center, where she was examined and treated. In an article published by The Washington Post, the duo was reported to have been filming a video in response to a message from another friend.
Immediately following the viral video’s release, Golla informed the post that she was recovering well.
As the fans at T-Mobile Park dealt with the medical emergency, the game continued on the field. The foul ball was hit during Sung-Mun Song’s at-bat in the fifth inning, based on the scoreboard visible behind Golla at the time.
Furthermore, the Padres were able to defeat Seattle 2-0 in the game. The San Diego Padres clinched the series with a 7-4 victory over the Mariners on Saturday.
