The Philadelphia Phillies have looked the part of a legitimate contender in the National League this season. A big part of their success has been due to the power bat of outfielder Kyle Schwarber.
Over the last four years, Schwarber has become a fan favorite in Philadelphia. His explosive bat has brought a lot of entertainment to the plate for Phillies fans to watch.
Schwarber is playing in the final year of his current contract with the team. He could very well re-sign during the offseason, but there are quite a few teams around the league who would love to steal him away.
With that in mind, the 32-year-old himself spoke out and dropped a major hint about which team he could leave the Phillies to sign with during free agency.

When speaking with Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer, Schwarber spoke out and honestly shared a team that he would love to play for at some point.
“Being a baseball fan and growing up and watching Cincinnati baseball for your whole youth, that’s how you fall in love with baseball, I think it would draw your attention, right?” Schwarber said.
“Being able to play for your childhood team is something that I think it’d be awesome.”

Signing with the Cincinnati Reds would be an interesting move for Schwarber. So far this season, the Reds are 50-47, while the Phillies have a 55-41 record. He would be taking a step back from a contention perspective potentially to fulfill his childhood dream of playing for Cincinnati.
During the 2025 MLB season thus far with Philadelphia, Schwarber has played in 96 games. He has hit 30 home runs to go along with 69 RBI’s, while also batting .247/.378/.545.
All of that being said, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for Schwarber. As free agency gets underway during the offseason, the Reds will be a team to keep a close eye on for the slugging outfielder.
