Coming into the 2025 MLB season, the Baltimore Orioles were expected to be a top-tier contender in the American League. After being one of the top contenders last season, the way the team has played so far this year has been a massive disappointment.
With the trade deadline right around the corner, the Orioles are just 42-50.
Due to their poor performance throughout the first half of the season, Baltimore is a prime sell candidate ahead of the deadline. There are quite a few players who could be on the block if the Orioles choose to sell.
Just a couple of weeks before the deadline, three intriguing players have been named possible trade candidates for Baltimore.
Baltimore Orioles Linked to Trading 3 Intriguing Pitchers Before Deadline
MLB.com analyst Mark Feinsand has named Zach Eflin, Charlie Morton, and Tomoyuki Sugano as possible trade targets for opposing teams.

All three players would be intriguing trade deadline pickups for teams around the league that need pitching help. For the Orioles, they would all make sense parting with, as they aren’t players to build around long-term.
So far this season, Eflin has made 12 starts. He has compiled a 6-5 record to go along with a 5.95 ERA, a 1.44 WHIP, a 3.8 K/BB ratio, and 62 innings of work completed.
Morton, who is now 41 years old, has made 20 appearances with 14 being starts. He holds a 5-7 record, a 5.18 ERA, a 1.52 WHIP, a 2.3 K/BB ratio, and has pitched 83.1 innings.
Finally, Sugano is 35 years old and has made 18 starts this season for Baltimore. He has gone 7-5 with a 4.44 ERA, a 1.30 WHIP, a 2.7 K/BB ratio, and 99.1 innings pitched.
None of the three starters fit the “star” category. They are all mid-to-low level rotation players who could be had on the cheap. If the Orioles make them available, there will likely be teams that come calling.
Expect to hear quite a few rumors connected to Baltimore in the coming days. These three players are worth keeping a close eye on.
