Heading towards the 2025 MLB trade deadline, the Milwaukee Brewers are going to be an interesting team to watch. While they aren’t considered a top-tier contender at this point in the season, they have shown flashes of being the kind of team that could turn into that down the stretch of the season.
Currently, the Brewers hold a 53-40 record. That places them just 1.5 games behind the Chicago Cubs in the chase for the National League Central division.
With the trade deadline right around the corner, could Milwaukee get aggressive?
That is exactly what ESPN has suggested. They have connected the Brewers to a massive franchise-altering trade that would shake up the landscape of Major League Baseball.
Milwaukee Brewers Connected to Huge Trade Featuring Ronald Acuna Jr. Before 2025 Deadline
ESPN analyst David Schoenfield took a look at what a trade between Milwaukee and the Atlanta Braves could look like.
In his suggested trade, the Brewers would send shortstop Jesus Made, shortstop Luis Pena, outfielder Sal Frelick, right-hander Logan Henderson, and right-hander Abner Uribe to the Braves in exchange for Acuna. Of course, the headliner in that package would be Made.

Over the last couple of years, Acuna has missed time due to a torn ACL. He has played in 41 games this season since returning to full health.
In the 41 games that he has played in Atlanta, Acuna has hit 11 home runs to go along with 20 RBI’s, while also batting .336/.454/.601. Needless to say, he’s picked up where he left off before getting hurt.
At 27 years old, Acuna is just getting started in his prime. Should Milwaukee pursue a blockbuster trade for him, it would be acquiring a player who could very well be the face of the franchise for many years to come.
While this trade is unlikely, it’s not impossible. If the Braves decide to entertain an Acuna trade, the Brewers should absolutely get involved. He would immediately make them an elite contender this season and would give them a cornerstone piece to build around for the future.
