The Chicago Cubs and Milwaukee Brewers kicked off their three game home series from Wrigley Field Field on Monday. The Brewers got out to a quick start and never looked back. Christian Yelich launched a 400 foot home-run in the second inning and the Brewers would add seven more runs in the fourth and fifth innings to go up 8-0.
It was then when Cubs fans decided to start a chant that only made them look foolish.

Cubs Fans Called Out For Green Bay Sucks Chant As Brewers Hit Dinger
Moments before Jake Bauers hit a three run home run to go up 8-0, you can hear a “Green Bay sucks” chant break out. It wasn’t the first time the chant happened even though the Cubs were losing all afternoon long:

Of course, the chant is in reference to the Green Bay Packers rivalry with the Chicago Bears. A rivalry that has recently started to be competitive again after Green Bay dominated for nearly three decades.
It is no secret that the Cubs are off to an incredibly hot start this season. Within two weeks of opening day, the Cubs had built a four-game lead over the rest of the National League Central. In spite of this, the Brewers thumped the Cubs 9-3 on Monday night, thereby reducing the division lead to a half-game.
While Murphy was describing how he still expected his own team to continue to improve after that win, he managed to throw a dig at the Cubs and their star-studded roster.
“They don’t even know most of our guys names so they’re never going to be intimated by us, but we’re not looking for that,” Murphy said, via Pat Timlin of WISN-TV.
It was also a strategy Murphy used last season when the Brewers faced the now two-time defending World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers.
Murphy’s predecessor of the Brewers was Craig Counsell, so neither manager believes the other does not know the player roster of the other. Seven months ago, the Brewers knocked the Cubs out of the playoffs, and all of the same players (Jake Bauers, Christian Yelich, Jackson Chourio) were making an impact in that series as well.
It will be interesting to see how the rest of this series plays out. Milwaukee got the jump in game one.
